(PHOENIX) Aug. 13, 2018 – Phoenix Rising FC announced today that it has acquired defender Saad Abdul-Salaam on loan for the remainder of the 2018 season from Major League Soccer club New York City FC. NYCFC will retain the right to recall Abdul-Salaam at any point.
The defender has made 4 appearances and recorded 1 assist, during the 2018 season for NYCFC. Prior to his stint at NYCFC, Saad played three seasons for Sporting Kansas City of MLS and was named the “Defensive Player of the Year” for the club following the 2016 season.
Saad is expected to train with Phoenix Rising on Monday and be eligible for selection on Saturday night as the club travels to Las Vegas to take on Las Vegas Lights FC.
