PHOENIX (December 12, 2018) — Phoenix Rising Football Club announced today that midfielder Kevon Lambert would return for the 2019 season. Per club policy, the details of the contract will not be made public.
Lambert first signed with the club on August 10, 2017. In 2018, Lambert played 2,776 minutes in 32 appearances. In addition to his three goals and four assists, Lambert led the club in long pass completion percentage (60.7 percent) amongst players with 100 or more long passes. Defensively, Lambert led the club in tackles won (59) and duels won (118). He was also third on the club in aerial duels won (82).
“It’s an honor to be back with this organization. I can’t wait to get back to work, pick up where we left off last season and bring that championship to Phoenix!”
Lambert also has international experience with the Jamaican National team. He made his international debut in 2017, earning his first international cap with the Jamaican National Team in February against Honduras. He’d go on to start in four matches for Jamaica during the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup in which Jamaica finished second. In 2018, Lambert was called up to the squad in September and started in an international friendly against Ecuador.
With the addition of Lambert, Phoenix Rising’s roster now stands at 14 players for the 2019 season.
