PHOENIX (October 25, 2018) – Phoenix Rising FC continue their push for the USL Cup as they face Swope Park Rangers at home on Friday in the USL Western Conference Semifinals. The match kicks off at 7:30pm, and fans can watch locally on Yurview Arizona, Cox channels 4&1004 in Phoenix and 7&1007 in Tucson. Fans can also stream the match nationwide on ESPN+. The match will be live on the radio on El Patron 93.7 FM (Spanish language) and Fox Sports 910 AM (English Broadcast).
Friday will be another $1 Beer Night presented by Bud Light at the Phoenix Rising Soccer Complex. The club is unbeatean (8-0-0) on $1 Beer Nights heading into Friday’s win-or-go-home playoff match.
Phoenix Rising FC has an opportunity to avenge its first-round playoff exit at the hands of Swope Park last season. At Swope Park, Rising FC lost on penalties in a match that took two days to complete due to inclement weather. Didier Drogba scored in extra time to give Rising a 1-0 lead only to see Swope Park equalize late in extra time to send the match to penalty kicks. Rising would fall on penalties 4-2.
Swope Park (15-11-8) finished 7th in the Western Conference this season with 53 points. Last week, they upset No. 2 seed Sacramento Republic FC on the road, 2-1, to advance past the conference quarterfinals. Swope Park has had success in the USL Cup Playoffs, advancing to the USL Cup Final in each of the past two seasons.
Friday’s match will be the third time these two teams have faced each other in 2018. Phoenix holds a 0-1-1 record against Swope Park this season, drawing 2-2 at home in April and losing 1-0 on the road in May. The all-time regular season series is locked up at 1-1-3.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early on Friday for the club's Red Carpet Welcome. Fans will have the chance to welcome the club as they arrive to the stadium and walk into the locker room. The first 2,000 fans will also receive a blackout t-shirt courtesy of Arizona Complete Health and every seat in the stadium will have a PRFC rally towel courtesy of Arizona Federal.
