PHOENIX, Arizona (January 23) – As part of its preseason plan, Phoenix Rising FC will travel to Mexico City to train at the storied Club Universidad Nacional A.C. Training Complex of Liga MX side Pumas UNAM from February 19-26, the club announced today.
We are very excited for the opportunity to be able to spend a week in one of the top training facilities in Mexico,” said Rising head coach Juan Guerra.” “We will be able to play two quality games that will help us in the process of developing the team we want to become this season. It will also give us the opportunity to spend time together as a team.”
Rising’s 2023 team will come together for the first time on January 26. Due to the club’s transition to its new home in the City of Phoenix at 38th Street and Washington, all preseason matches will be closed to the public.
“With the ongoing construction at 38th Street and Washington, we aren’t in a position to host fans until our home opener on April 1,” said Rising President Bobby Dulle. “The central location of the new site, the team we have assembled and the partnerships we have built this offseason are generating a lot of momentum. I expect our inaugural match in the City of Phoenix will be played in front of a capacity crowd and we’ll return to hosting a typical preseason schedule with matches open to the public in 2024.”
